Delicious pizza and sides! So glad I tried this place. From what I've heard from others, these pizza are much better eaten very fresh, and I was fortunate enough to have eaten them at the restaurant instead of takeout. The standout of the night was the Nellie pizza, but all the appetizer/small plates we tried were pretty great too. Service was fast and courteous, and the noise level is very moderate, making it a great place to catch up with friends. Will definitely be back!
Service was great. I had the Nellie, round pizza with shallots three ways, pickled, roasted, and fried. This pie was amazing. I would return for it. I also had the sicilian pie. It was just ok. The dough was to crunchy and crips, all over, the bottom, and all the sides. I need a little more softness in my sicilian.
I visited Stretch Pizza back in March with a group of 6 and had a great experience. The service was very attentive, ensuring we felt well taken care of throughout our meal. The food was delicious, though not all the pizzas were my personal favorite. The decor was nice and quaint, adding to the cozy atmosphere. We were lucky to have a reservation, as it got packed quickly on a Saturday. Overall, I highly recommend Stretch for its excellent service, tasty food, and charming ambiance.
Came on a Sunday and it was busy - they seem short staffed but were attentive enough. The potato chip salad is just that - salad with salt and vinegar potato chips which seem to makeup for the under dressed greens. Tried the special pizza with manchego and greens - it was delicious! Dessert was a banana soft serve which was a wonderful way to end the meal.
I chose this spot with mention to the Michelin star chef. Ambiance (5/5): Loved the retro diner/bar vibes. It was open, well decorated, lovely eye popping colors. Covered outdoor dining table setting with nice quality tables that matched the indoor area. Quiet surrounding for lunch. Open windows providing nice air flow from outside. You can also see the kitchen from a small opening in the back. Be aware that the bathroom is several flights down (I think I saw an elevator access as well). Service (5/5): We ended up sitting at the bar during Saturday lunch hours where most of the tables were not occupied. The server was friendly and offered us samples of wine and later made us a personalized drink with my requested flavor. He accidentally put in the wrong order for a non-vegetarian pizza (the Stranger) but only realized after I had already touched the slice so we got the whole pizza for free!! We never felt rushed. They boxed our leftovers and kept them at the front where they had a pizza warmer! Pizza (4/5): I liked the pizza for being gourmet but it was not the best pizza I had. Perhaps it needed some more doughy-ness to it or a better crunch. The Nellie was far better than the Stranger in my opinion. The different kinds of onions on the Nellie gave it a dynamic flavor. We also opted for their sauces (3) the Strand was very standard and the least liked between the two of us. We like the green garden and the burnt scallion! Dessert (3/5): The mini chocolate chip cookies has a pronounced browned butter flavor, so they're crunchy and not too sweet. They were nice to nom on but nothing to write home about.
Met a friend here for post work drinks and dinner. The meatball sliders are a MUST get. I am generally not a fan of meatballs but this was a game changer. The other favorite was the mushroom rye crust pizza Other stuff we ordered: cacio e pepe gnocchi, garlic bread with 3 sauces, classic pizza, etc. There was not one bad drink or dish, highly recommended. Staff was warm and friendly as well.
Super unique pizzas & easy to get reservations :) double win! Made a reservation for a Friday night at 6:30 pm. I had booked the bar for 2 people (it's all that was available when I booked ~2 days in advance), but upon checking in they let us choose any table for two -- score! Much prefer a regular table vs bar seating. We split the square pepperoni and the everything pizza. I think the square pepperoni was my favorite of the two; super crispy crust, and the pepperonis were curled & charred - just how I like them. The everything pizza thankfully wasn't too creamy; some bites were incredible & bursting with flavor, others were just okay. I'm curious about the potato chip salad, garlic bread, and soft serve. I think I'll definitely be back & would love to try more of their unique pizza offerings! :) Random note but the bathroom was weirdly hard to get to lol - like a maze of doors, stairs, hallways... Good luck haha.
5 pizzas, many apps, a cocktail and just a little ice cream later... they had to basically roll me out of this restaurant. Stretch is a very cool, very delicious spot right in Flatiron. Come for the good food, great drinks, and trendy vibes. Our group of 10 got seated in the perfect little outcove back room. If your group is 12 or less, this is the nook to get. We were out of the way and could hear each other. I know I sound really old... but does it always have to be so loud?! Thank you, Stretch for the reasonable volume. We started with cocktails and it was probably the toughest choice of the night. I went with the On The ZL (lemon and mezcal sold it) but everything on the drinks menu looked amazing and so creative. My drink was soooo tasty, but pricey at $20. We started with a few apps: the poblano peppers, meatball sliders, basil chickpea fries and the brussel sprouts (on the specials menu). We got a couple of each so our big group could all get a try of everything and I don't think a single sprout was leftover. Everything was gooood! My favorites had to be the brussel sprouts, peppers, even the chickpea fries (kind of just tasted like falafel). The meatball sliders were great, but I think a little too heavy when we have like 7 pizzas coming our way shortly. Okay on to the stars, the reason we are all here, the pizzas. We tried a lot. But the standouts for me were the Oddfather (eggplant & zucchini) & the Nellie (shallots, shallots and more shallots). The Everything (literally an everything bagel - cream cheese and all) was good, but not for me, but good! We ended our night with a couple soft serve ice creams to share, because there is always room for ice cream. Go, eat, enjoy! You'll love it.
